Turmeric Lemonade

Healing when brewed hot, turmeric lemonade, iced, is a quenching summer tonic.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lemon well-juiced
  • 1- inch piece fresh turmeric thinly sliced
  • 2- inch piece fresh ginger thinly sliced
  • 4 cups boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Pour lemon juice into a small teapot. Add the turmeric and ginger. Pour boiling water over all. Stir and let steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Then strain out the bits (if you’re fastidious) and sip.
  • Sweeten with a teaspoon of agave nectar or maple syrup if desired. Drink it all. Makes a goodly dose for one.
